about.

hello!

Welcome to my blog—a virtual “bookshelf” of what I’m reading and my own thoughts on the words I consume.

My name is April (she/her), and I am first and foremost a reader. Growing up as an Asian American, books helped me to embrace my identity, learn about experiences beyond my own, and travel around the world (and beyond).

I am a student as well, and attend university in the Midwest. I’m double-majoring in Journalism and English, and minoring in Asian American Studies. I’m a writer and am passionate about diverse stories.

I am also an enthusiast of sushi, snap pea chips, Costco, Muji pens, and Golden Age movie musicals. I’m decidedly not a fan of horror movies, the evil stepmother from Snow White, and the cold.

“lost in the bookstacks” was birthed in 2015, when I joined Bookstagram to create a space for sharing my bookish musings. Ever since then, I’ve had so many amazing interactions within this wonderful community of people who love reading as much as I do!

I’ve been blogging about books since 2016, but now I’ve finally decided to join the community on WordPress, and I’m so excited to get to know all of you! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and you can subscribe/follow to keep updated whenever I post.

I am available to review books, especially Young Adult novels and #OwnVoices stories about Chinese American/Asian American experiences. I will put the review up on this blog and on Goodreads, and will most likely promote it on my social media channels. I can post the review in additional locations, such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble, upon request. If you are interested, please feel free to reach out to me through email at april.lostinthebookstacks@gmail.com.

You can also find me on Instagram @lostinthebookstacks, on Twitter @aprilinthebooks, on Youtube (lost in the bookstacks), and on Goodreads @lostinthebookstacks. I look forward to hearing from you!
